Arrival and Departure

Our housekeeper will clean and prepare the house for you by 4pm on the day you arrive.

On arrival, the house key will be found in a key safe, whose code will be supplied on confirmation of booking. Guests are advised to bring a torch, as the exterior of the back of the house is deliberately not illuminated to avoid light pollution and enable guests to see the stars.

On your last day we ask that you vacate the house entirely by 10am. Please leave the house clean and tidy.

Parking

Please DO park directly outside the house - in line with the double doors of the store room is generally the very best policy.
We ask that you remain considerate to local residents with your parking at all times.

Please DO NOT park in front of the barn directly opposite the main entrance to the house as the elderly French gentleman it belongs to gets distressed.
Please also DO NOT park in front of the barn belonging to our property as it blocks a shared access.
Please DO NOT block any roads.

Please note, we cannot guarantee the safety of your car or personal belongings, though the likelihood you will experience any issues is extremely remote.

Noise

Please be aware that it is part of the French countryside culture to have a quiet period at midday between 12 noon and 2pm, and this may include a short siesta.

Also, whilst the walls are of stone and quite thick so there is some tolerance, please be aware of noise levels in the main room between 9pm and 8am for the benefit my neighbour whom has the adjoining house and may be sleeping. He has been very kind and helpful to us, so I would like to keep up the good relations.

Smoking

'Les Rosiers' is strictly a NON SMOKING house.
Smoking is only permitted outside of the house eg on the balcony or in the gardens.

Food

We would like to encourage you to enjoy banqueting in our main room, dining on our balcony, or having a lovely picnic in the garden.

Please DO NOT eat food in ANY of the bedrooms.

Health and Safety

The house was constructed to the standards of earlier times. Consequently, you may encounter features that reflect its particular character but deserve due care and attention, particularly for the young, elderly, less mobile or visually impaired.

Many issues we encountered we have eradicated in the process of our renovations. In an old house like this, part of the upstairs floor has a very small slope to it, and the main stairs are wide and strong but very slightly uneven.
There is a guarded mezzanine and a little landing area with a few steps in the children's room, plus a solid spiral staircase that you should take due care with especially if you are not used to using one.
So please do make sure that everyone in your group takes care with all stairs, we advise you to use the handrails provided.
There is also a single step change of level between the main room and the pink room, and also between the pink room and the entrance hall, so please just be aware of this.

As to the suitability and accessibility of the property for your group, please refer to all the photos of the different rooms that we have uploaded for your perusal. You will find these listed on the accommodation drop down menu of our website.

We cannot be held responsible for any injury.
