Enjoy simple and delightful pleasures at 'Les Rosiers' in the heart of rural France
'Les Rosiers' is a lovely old village house, built @1880, situated in quiet no-through lane of 'La Celle' which is a charming small hamlet in the in the heart of rural France. 'La Celle' is situated in the département of Vienne within the region of Poitou-Charente and is surrounded by plentiful, beautiful, unspoilt countryside.
When you walk around the little hamlet of ‘La Celle’ you will discover all the streets are named after different flowers.
Some of the local residents gain much pleasure in creating some prize-winning floral displays.
You are also likely to come across horses, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and a plethora of other farm animals.
'Les Rosiers' has been recently renovated and re-configured to provide our clients with very flexible holiday accommodation.
Because of this it may be possible to bring together a family of 3 generations under one roof; or alternatively allow close relatives or friends to enjoy a chance to share holiday accommodation.
The house has 4 bedrooms, (accommodating up to 15 people).
Upstairs:
-
a master bedroom (1 - 2 persons)
-
a small double bedroom (1 - 2 persons)
-
a very large children’s bedroom (1 - 7 persons)
-
plus a cot situated on the upstairs landing
Downstairs:
-
a day room / bedroom (1 - 4 persons)
There are 2 bathrooms (1 upstairs, 1 downstairs) and a further independent downstairs toilet.
The aim is to offer affordable accommodation where everyone can relax, enjoy good food, and spend some real quality time together.
As to socialising and enjoying food together, the cooker is a decent size with 5 gas hobs and a large electric oven, this is situated in the main downstairs room which easily accommodates a large 10 seated dining table. There is also a balcony for outdoor dining.
The house has 2 facades wrapped around which is a little garden.
'Les Rosiers' (the rosebushes) is situated in 'allee de Rosiers'.
The little garden is therefore dominated by an eclectic variety of beautiful roses, with scented herbs [sage, mint rosemary and lavender] lining the pathway to the main entrance.
Also with the house is a detached garden which is situated at the back of the barn opposite. This is being developed into an edible garden for visitors to enjoy, and we hope, at certain times of year, be able to pick some in-season produce.
The nearest shops are at 'Lathus'(5 mins) which has two boulangeries and a small supermarket, with the larger towns of 'La Dorat' (9 mins), 'Bellac' (15 mins), 'Magnac Laval' (20 mins), and 'Montmorillon' (20 mins) drive away.
To reach the nearest airport at 'Limoges' takes @40 minutes.
The airport at 'Poiters' is a bit further taking @ 1 hour.
For house-hunters, the area is very popular with Brits looking to upgrade their quality of life, as property prices here are the most affordable in France.
